Star Wars The Last Jedi – The Good and The Bad (Spoiler Filled Review)

Star Wars the Last Jedi wasn’t not a bad film – but it is bringing up stronger emotions than Episodes I and II did to leave me sitting in the middle of the Force. If you have not seen the movie, go and watch it. It deserves many watches as there’s a lot of information to take in there. As far as how much I liked it, I’d put it right underneath Revenge of the Sith. That is to say, I liked Revenge of the Sith more than I like TLJ.

The problem I’m realizing as I sit here and ponder Star Wars The Last Jedi is not the phasing out from the old to new – it’s how Rian Johnson did it. The movie isn’t written well enough to do what it wants to do, and the questions it doesn’t answer don’t work. Johnson gets wrong what he thinks the audience should care about – and this movie is clearly that: here’s what I think you should now care about in Star Wars. But he doesn’t give us the writing or the movie to make that stick.

To go into more detail about what I liked and didn’t like about the film, I connect with the awesome radio show host The Zod Writer. I was on his show last year, to talk about my Star Wars Fan Fiction actually and we had a great talk. Zod hated this movie, while I straddle the fence, though the more I think about it, the more sad it makes me. Anyway, this is a very raw audio, no intro or outro’s, just two Star Wars Geeks on a rant about what they did and didn’t like about the movie. It’s a bit long, we might draw this out, but Star Wars makes us emotional what can we say.

Feel free to sound off in the comments! Agree or Disagree, we all love Star Wars here.
